It's a Long Steep Road...

...and I'm eager to see what the man can do.

What Is And What Should Never Be...

It appears that 401k's can stay intact for all the old fogies. Robert Plant is not inclined to tour with Led Zeppelin, as was earlier reported. In fact, it's likely that Zep will be touring (and recording) with a different lead vocalist.

Too bad Paul Rodgers is working with Queen right now, because he'd be a great fit.

NOW We Understand What You're Saying....

The more closely economic CSIs look at the U.S. economy's corpse, the more of former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan fingerprints show up.

Want to keep an economic boom going? No problem. Just keep all that extra money floating out there. Cut the prime rate, too, just for good measure. Go for all the cheap credit you can get. After all, those dollars in your pocket are just trash. When it comes time to report up on the Hill, you just give 'em some economic hoo-joo.

"For a man who was once remarkably hard to decipher, Alan Greenspan is now as clear as an empty Lehman Brothers office." - Steve Goldstein

So, Who's The Real Squirrel?

In the latest debate, the Republican candidate stated that the Democratic candidate is related in some nefarious way to a group whose actions "threaten to tear apart the very fabric of our country."

Senator McCain has called for Senator Obama to explain his relationship with ACORN. Shouldn't Sen. McCain explain his own relationship as a supporter of ACORN first?

We Do Not Torture People...

The current administration has—on at least two occasions—given written acknowledgment and approval of CIA torture practices on detainees. Such news is lost in the mix of what’s become “normal.” And Normal has become a sorry and stressful state that should make every American angry.

Now You Can Sleep A Bit Better At Night...

While most of America ponders its shrunken 401k investment, it’s remarkable to think the Administration at one time—in the not-too-distant past—actively pursued privatization of at least a portion of the Social Security program.

There. Isn't that just like a big glass of warm milk?

And now, McCain will give you the real reason privatization didn't work.

On We Sweep...

What could be the last big party blast for Baby Boomers comes in 2009. Led Zeppelin announced plans for a reunion tour with its surviving trio and Jason Bonham on drums, taking the place of his father.

Although I’m way behind the news curve on this one, my curiosity is piqued. I’m eager to see the tour schedule, expecting that they’ll be cruising through San Francisco at some point.

Could be this is a bad time to have a tour due to the worldwide economic crisis. At a few hundred bucks per ticket, the audience could be limited to those unafraid to leverage their IRAs.
